The West Tampa Attic Series Toro is the second release from Rick Rodriguez following his departure from General Cigar Co. and the launch of West Tampa Tobacco Co. in 2022 — and it’s one that’s been nearly 30 years in the making.
The Attic Series is deeply personal. Rick describes it as an ongoing project that allows him to bring blends and stories down from his “attic” — ideas, concepts, and experiences he’s kept locked away throughout his career. This Toro is the first chapter in that journey, and it delivers exactly what you’d expect from a master blender stepping out on his own.
Wrapped in a dark, oily Mexican San Andrés wrapper, the West Tampa Attic Series Toro immediately delivers richness and depth. Beneath that sits a Nicaraguan binder from Condega and Nicaraguan fillers grown in Condega and Estelí, creating a beautifully constructed cigar that burns evenly and produces thick, satisfying smoke.
Flavor-wise, this is a medium-to-full-bodied cigar that leans heavily into bold, full flavor. Expect notes of dark cocoa, espresso, earth, natural sweetness from the San Andrés wrapper, and a balanced pepper spice that lingers on the finish. It’s complex, layered, and evolves throughout the smoke — exactly what experienced cigar smokers look for in a premium Nicaraguan blend.
This is a true limited release. Only 2,000 boxes of 14 cigars were produced, making the West Tampa Attic Series Toro a must-have for collectors and fans of Rick Rodriguez cigars alike.
If you’re looking for a limited edition West Tampa cigar, a Mexican San Andrés wrapper Toro, or a bold and refined Nicaraguan medium-to-full-bodied cigar, the Attic Series Toro deserves a spot in your humidor.
Once these are gone, they’re gone.
