This project was born when Jonathan Drew and Steve Saka placed a Kentucky fire-cured wrapper over a Liga Privada cigar and immediately recognized the incredible potential of this rare tobacco. Fire-cured tobacco is created by burning hardwoods such as hickory, oak, and maple inside curing barns for weeks at a time. This time-honored process infuses the tobacco with deep smoky, peaty, and barbecue-like flavors that are impossible to replicate through conventional curing methods. After more than two and a half years of experimentation, Drew Estate perfected the blend to create one of the most unique premium cigars ever produced.

The Kentucky Fire Cured line is produced through Drew Estate and Joya de Nicaragua’s joint venture, My Uzi Weighs a Ton, and is handmade at the legendary Joya de Nicaragua factory in Nicaragua. The blend features both Kentucky and Virginia fire-cured tobaccos, along with a special undisclosed leaf from a mysterious origin. The Sweet version adds a subtle sweetness that perfectly balances the bold smoke without overpowering the natural character of the tobacco.
